Connacht's victory over Ulster last weekend in the Pro12 have given them a timely boost ahead of their Champions Cup campaign opener against Toulouse this weekend.

Pat Lam's side face a huge task against French giants Toulouse, who make the trip to the Sportgrounds at 5.30pm this Saturday, but will have taken a lot of positives from their victory over their provincial rivals.

Off The Ball's Cian Murtagh will be keeping an eye on proceedings this weekend in Galway and ahead of the round of European fixtures, Alan Quinlan was live on Newstalk.com this morning discussing what the Irish provinces face this weekend.

Elsewhere, Munster travel to  Ronan O'Gara's Racing 92, while Leinster look to put Castres to the sword at the RDS.

Gerry Thornley discussed Leinster's centre partnership on Off The Ball on Wednesday night and Quinlan says he sees a lot of potential in the Ringrose/Henshaw pairing.

"When you think of the other two guys who played so long together, Gordon D'Arcy and Brian O'Driscoll, it was an incredible partnership. What a signing Henshaw is for any team. Leinster were very lucky to get him, he's a great player and it shows the calibre of guy who, on his first game of the season, can play in a big derby match [against Munster] and produce such a big performance."
