The Manchester United forward missed out on Sam Allardyce's maiden England squad after failing to get first team football under Jose Mourinho

Manchester United youngster Marcus Rashford has given Sam Allardyce food for thought after scoring a hat-trick on his U21 England debut this afternoon.

The 18-year-old was omitted from Allardyce's maiden England team after, claiming that he had not made sufficient appearances in the Premier League under Jose Mourinho.

Rashford staked his claim to be elevated to the senior team - who only managed a late 1-0 win over Slovakia in their World Cup qualifying campaign opener - after notching three goals against Norway.

The goals mean he has now scored on his professional, Premier League, full England and Under-21 debuts.

Also on target for Gareth Southgate's side were Chelsea duo Nathaniel Chalobah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Chalobah has now made 88 appearances for England youth teams but is still yet to make his senior debut for the London side.
