Tiger Woods is on 8-under after his third round at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

Golf's former World No 1 is continuing his comeback after an absence of 16 months and posted a solid 70 to finish 2-under for the day and 8-under overall.

It was not quite as spectacular as the bogey free 65 he managed in Friday's second round but was a satisfying showing for the 14-time major winner.

Five birdies and a bogey gave the American an excellent start on the front nine but a double bogey on the last saw him slip back when he could have gone into Sunday's final round on 10-under if he had achieved par on the hole.

Japan's Hideki Matsuyama continues to lead the way on 19-under.

That's seven clear of Dustin Johnson.

Sweden's Henrik Stenson is the highest placed European on the leaderboard on the same score as the US golfer after a strong 66 also put him on 12-under overall.
