Winger used to star for Le Havre in his native France
In an era of players mostly developed from academies and classically trained, it's good to see a street footballer making waves at the highest level.
For that is what Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez was, having slipped through the cracks of France's footballing pyramid as a youngster as explained by Algerian football writer Maher Mezahi on Off The Ball last night.
The 24-year-old did eventually join a club higher up the echelons when he signed for Le Havre in 2010.
Four years later, he was at Leicester, but most of us haven't seen the pre-Premier League Mahrez in action.
