Warren Gatland still considering Lions XV to face New Zealand

British and Irish Lions rugby union head coach Warren Gatland says he is no closer to figuring out his fifteen for the Test series against New Zealand.

They will continue their tour with a match against Super Rugby side Crusaders on Saturday, following yesterday's defeat to the Blues.

Alun Wyn Jones will captain the team in a much changed line-up.

Gatland says there is plenty of time for players to prove they're worthy of a starting spot.

"I said to one of the coaches today - I gave him a piece of paper - and said 'Write down your test team' and he couldn't get anywhere near it at the moment," said Gatland.

"Players are going to get one or two chances to make a stance and make an impact. We haven't spoken about a test combination yet."

There are 11 Irish players in the current British and Irish Lions squad. Thus far Jonathan Sexton, Rory Best, Iain Henderson, Tadhg Furlong, Jared Payne, Robbie  Henshaw, CJ Stander, Jack McGrath, Peter O'Mahony have all played a part in the first two test matches.

Conor Murray, Sean O'Brien, Furlong and O'Mahony have been named in the starting XV to face Crusaders, while McGrath, Stander and Sexton are on the bench.
