Wayne Rooney will not face any sanctions after 'inappropriate' photos of him attending a wedding while on international duty, were leaked.

The FA has assured the England captain that he will not be charged, while it is also believed that investigations into other players who were alleged to be out late on the same night, are ongoing.

Images of Rooney attending a wedding reception on the night his side defeated Scotland, were published by The Sun. The Man United player was subjected to a barage of criticism in the aftermath while respected figures in English football came to his defence.

The 31-year-old addressed the volatile reaction after United's draw with Arsenal, labelling the treatment as 'disgraceful' while also apologising for his behaviour to interim boss Gareth Southgate.

The team has since been banned from having social nights out while on International duty.
