When Bryan Fogel set out to make a documentary exploring the use of PED's in sports he ended up uncovering more than he'd bargained for.
Looking back he describes the twists his story took as "utterly unexpected," ahead of the film's release, it will be available exclusively on Netflix from Friday, August 4th.
"The movie turned into something so far beyond my imagination - literally turned into me exposing the single biggest scandal in sports history and Olympic history," he told Off The Ball.
He teamed up with Russian Dr. Grigory Rodchenkov to begin his PED experiment, without realising that he would become one of the key figures in a doping scandal which would engulf the country.
The film charts how their relationship developed as Dr Rodchenkov began to fear for his personal safety as the scale of the doping program became apparent.
As the film prepares to go live on Friday, Bryan told OTB that he unsure if he is in danger following his role in lifting the lid on the country's cheating.
