Wenger insists he's not interested in Barcelona job

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists he is not interested in any job outside of his current role, with rumours linking him with the soon to be vacant Barcelona job.

Current Barca boss Luis Enrique confirmed this week that he will leave the position come the end of the season and already there has been talk as to who will replace him.

Speaking on Thursday afternoon, Wenger says he is fully focused with the task at hand.

"I'm not looking for jobs in other clubs or for jobs of other people," he said. "I'm just focusing getting to the next level and trying to improve because I think competent managers always try to improve. They always try to see what you can do better and reinvent yourself and that's what I try and do.

"Look, I've been here for 20 years and I've had many times the opportunity to leave so I don't think I have to convince you that my preference has always been Arsenal. But, of course, I'm objective enough to make the right decision for myself. And the club, they are free to make the decision it wants and I will respect that."

Barcelona are all but out of the Champions League following their heavy 4-0 defeat away to PSG in their Round of 16 first leg.

The Catalan giants lead the race for the La Liga title, sitting a point ahead of second placed Real Madrid and five ahead of their city rivals Atletico Madrid - both of whom have a game in hand.
