WATCH: Who scored the fastest goals in Premier League history?

Enner Valencia gave West Ham United a particularly early lead against Manchester City yesterday, when he netted a low range strike with just 53 seconds on the clock.

That sensational goal sees the Ecuadorian - who scored again in the second half- join an elite list of swift scorers in the 2015-2016 season. So far this season, Manuel Lanzini (2min 28sec), James Milner (1min 6sec) and Mattie Ritchie (49sec) have scored the three quickest goals.

While 53 seconds is a good start, a number of other players have made the shortlist of the quickest Premier League goals of all time, so here are a few of the fastest ever.

5. Dwight Yorke (Aston Villa) - 13 seconds

Before the striker formed his deadly partnership with Andy Cole at Man United, Dwight Yorke enjoyed some strong goal-scoring form at Aston Villa. Against Coventry in 1995, Yorke found the net with just 13 seconds on the clock.

4. Chris Sutton (Blackburn Rovers) - 13 seconds

Remember when Roy Keane was torn over whether to divert to Blackburn or Man United at the end of his time at Nottingham Forest? With the former now in the bottom half of the Championship table, it's incredible to think that a player of Keane's calibre was considering Kenny Dalglish's offer at the time.

However, back in the mid '90s, Blackburn Rovers were eating at the top table in English football. With Chris Sutton and Alan Shearer leading their attack, Rovers captured the '94/95 Premier League title and Sutton hit the net in under 15 seconds against Everton.

3. Mark Viduka (Leeds United) - 11 seconds

He didn't come from a soccer stronghold, but the Australian forward was a renowned goal poacher throughout his years in the Premier League. He once scored four goals against Liverpool and in 2001, he pierced the Charlton net with a shot on 11 seconds.

2. Alan Shearer (Newcastle) - 10.4 seconds

At this point, we are reduced to fractional differences between first and second place, and on this occasion, the Newcastle legend Alan Shearer will have to settle for a runner-up prize.

Regardless of where it lands in the final cut, his goal from 2003 remains a moment of beauty. Shortly after kick-off, the Manchester City defence directed the ball back to their 'keeper, who slipped momentarily in front of the anticipating striker. Shearer being Shearer, he lunged at the attempted clearance to block it down before tapping it into the net.

1. Ledley King (Tottenham Hotspur) - 10 seconds

The coveted crown of fastest goal in Premier League History goes to English defender Ledley King. An unlikely source, but a legitimate goal none the less.

While it's amazing to think that this record belongs to a defender, what's even more unbelievable is that the goal came against Bradford in the 2000-2001 season. 16 years on and Bradford City are in 10th place on the League One table, while Ledley King has now retired from professional soccer after struggling with injury problems.
