Wexford's star continues to ascend in the 2016 All-Ireland championship and they will garner considerable momentum after overcoming Cork in Semple Stadium this evening.

Cork briefly took the lead following a Daniel Kearney goal in the second half, but Wexford were undeterred as they responded with a flury of points to regain a three point lead, heading into the concluding stages of the game.

After securing their Division 1A status with a relegation win over Galway earlier this year, Cork went on to suffer a heavy defeat against Tipperary in the Munster championship.

And today's Championship exit, compounds an already disappointing campaign for the Leesiders.
