"Will Grigg's on Fire" writer turns to Stephen Warnock for his next terrace hit

Wigan Athletic fan Sean Kennedy was the unlikely creator of a song that dominated most of Euro 2016.

'DJ Kenno' penned the words to "Will Grigg's on Fire" which was sung throughout France by Northern Ireland fans last summer. The song about the Wigan striker was originally picked up by fans of the club, and grew a life of its own before last summer's tournament.

Kennedy ended up getting a free Season Ticket for the publicity the chant gave Wigan Athletic on a global scale, and he has not stopped with creating chants, despite the success of the Grigg-inspired tune.

Wigan captain Stephen Warnock is his latest muse, with Kennedy releasing the chant on Twitter earlier this week. Based on Snap's "Rhythm is a Dancer", the lyrics are surprisingly catchy for the former Liverpool defender.

"We needed a leader. Warnock was the answer. You can play him anywhere. Put him in at left-back. Put him in a right-back. You'll never beat him in the air" are among the chant's highlights.

Warnock joined Wigan at the start of the season on a one-year deal, after spending the final months on loan at the club at the end of last season.

It may not match the hysteria of "Will Grigg's on Fire", but is certainly a song that stays in the head.
