Wins for Ulster and Munster in the Pro12

Irish eyes were kept smiling as the two provinces in action tonight ran out winners, maintaing good starts to the Pro12 season.

Down in Limerick, Munster maintained their 100% record with a 23-21 win over Glasgow Warriors in Thomond Park.

Man-of-the-match Ian Keatley was on hand to kick a late penalty to secure the points against a Glasgow side missing a staggering 21 players to World Cup duty.

Dave O'Callaghan ran over to put Munster 10-3 ahead going in at the break after Glasgow flanker Tyrone Holmes was binned after almost half a hour of the game played.

Rory Clegg's accuracy dragged the visitors back into the game and his drop goal five minutes from time gave Glasgow a one-point lead. But Keatley held his nerve and steered a late penalty over to leave their record unblemished for another week.

Meanwhile, Ulster cruised to a 48-7 win over Benetton Treviso, with all the focus on Andrew Trimble who earned a record-breaking 190th cap for the club.

Tries came from a number of sources including Craig Gilroy (2), Dan Touhy, Sean Reidy, Paul Marshall, Peter Browne and Lewis Stevenson to compound Treviso's misery.

The Italian side had Sam Christie to thank for their only score of the night.

The wins see Munster and Ulster sit second and third in the table for tonight at least.
