Zlatan Ibrahimovic denies kicking Seamus Coleman in the head

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's first season at Manchester United has been a success.

The Swedish striker has already scored 12 goals this season. He found the net in Manchester United's 1-1 draw with Everton on Sunday.

Despite the goal, the 35-year-old striker courted some controversy from a tangle with Seamus Coleman. The Donegal defender was eventually substituted after the clash.

Ibrahimovic's foot landed on Coleman's head, and despite accusations of kicking the Ireland captain's head, the Swede told MUTV it was purely unintentional.

"It was a physical game. They played hard. I heard one of the commentators say I kicked somebody in the head on purpose. It was a 50-50 duel and he pulled me down. I tried to avoid to touching him."

"Trust me, if I want to kick somebody in the head, I know how to kick somebody in the head and make him fall asleep. That is the only thing I have to say."

Speaking to Off the Ball's Nathan Murphy after the game, Coleman said he struggled to run properly after the challenge, but was feeling better after coming off.

"I'm not one to come off. I don't know the ins and outs of the injury yet. It's feeling much better now, after the game. I couldn't stand up straight and I couldn't run really, so it was a cause of using your head."

"There's no point being brave and not being fit to play to your full potential, especially against a team like that, because you could be at fault for a goal. Your bravery would end up being stupid."
