He is less than five months at the club, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic has already earned himself another year at Manchester United.

The former Swedish international joined after Euro 2016 on a free transfer after leaving PSG at the end of last season. He originally signed a one-year deal.

Ibrahimovic started the season in excellent form, scoring in the Community Shield against Leicester City as he won his first piece of silverware with the club.

The 35-year-old has scored eight goals so far this season in all competitions. He scored twice in his last game, as United defeated Swansea 3-1 in Wales.

Earlier this week, the Swedish FA confirmed they were to erect a statue of the Malmo native after he won the Swedish Footballer of the Year for the tenth year in a row.

After being suspended for the Premier League game against Arsenal, Ibrahimovic will return to the squad to play Feyenoord in the Europa League.
