Bilic pleased with Randolph reaction to being dropped at West Ham

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic says he has been impressed by the reaction of Ireland goalkeeper Darren Randolph to his decision to drop him.

Randolph had been the long time No 2 to Spanish goalkeeper Adrian at West Ham but errors and poor form from the latter saw the Bray native take his place in the starting lineup.

However, question marks over Randolph's own form has seen their roles reversed once more with Adrian starting against Everton on April 22nd in his first Premier League match since 1-1 draw against Stoke back in early November.

Bilic is pleased with Randolph's reaction to his demotion.

"It was good. I had a couple of meetings with them individually and I explained to them my decision like I explained the one that happened to Adrian after about 10 games of the season," said Bilic at a press conference ahead of West Ham's trip to Stoke City on Saturday.

"He is a great professional and of course he's disappointed and all that but he understood my decision completely. He's training hard and he's now waiting for his chance like Adrian waited for his.

"I've always said we have two really good goalkeepers and it's a blessing for us. You never know what's going to happen in football. I'm really happy with the goalkeepers."
