Jamesie O'Connor points to signs that bode well for Cork's hurlers

After overcoming All Ireland Champions Tipperary last time out, the flow of the Cork resurgence was not stopped on Sunday as Waterford became the latest side to fall to Kieran Kingston's men.

It leaves a different complexion on both counties after the Munster Hurling Semi Final and former Clare hurler Jamesie O'Connor feels the Waterford players need to take a look at themselves.

"Some of the Waterford players have to say, 'listen, we owe Derek McGrath a lot. He's put his heart and soul into this,'" O'Connor told Off The Ball tonight as he and former Tipp All Ireland winner Tommy Dunne shared their thoughts on the game.

"And I don't he got the performance that he deserved from the team yesterday. But at the end of the day, this was more about Cork than Waterford."

And speaking of Cork, O'Connor noted something from the Tipperary game that bodes well for them.

"The big thing with them is they have pace, and serious pace all over the field," he said.

"I was over at the old stand side for the Cork-Tipp game and it was noticeable to me that the entire Cork management were out on the field before the team came out and I looked on that like a really good sign that the players have really taken ownership of this.

"And you have to give credit to management for putting that responsibility on them."
