He's worked with Jonny Wilkinson, very notably, George Ford, Luke Donald, Padraig Harrington, Johnny Sexton, Paddy Jackson, The English rugby team, the Lions, the English cricket team and some Premier League teams.

Now noted sports performance coach Dave Alred has published a new book called The Pressure Principle: Handle stress, harness energy and perform when it counts.

And he was back on Off The Ball today, to talk about how both sportspeople and people in any non-sports domain can thrive under pressure.

But one performer under pressure that he would love to sit down with is a particular elite golfer.

"One guy who I haven't worked with but I would like to know more of how he does what he does is Jordan Spieth and there was one little snapshot that I never forget and it was in the second or the last round at Augusta. It was just the beginning of the back nine and it was 13 or 14. It was the second shot into a particular green and the commentator was saying 'well he's going to go for this one, this is a bit risky'. And he hit either a six or a seven iron and it screamed up, going right for the pin and it bounced and it rolled and it probably went about three or four revolutions too far and then tipped over the slope and went rolling down and with a 30 yard bump and run to get back up. His reaction was 'gee that was such a great shot' and I thought then 'Wow!'"

As Alred explained, anyone else might have "thrown the toys out of the pram" which shows a "special" quality to Spieth's mentality.
