Ollie Moran pinpoints exactly what it will take for Limerick to stun Galway

Will it be Galway's day to win back-to-back titles or Limerick's time to end an All Ireland drought?

That's was the key theme at our exclusive show with Guinness Ireland at the Open Gate Brewery as hurling legends - football greats too - tonight.

Galway All Ireland winner Pete Finnerty and former Limerick All Star Ollie Moran joined Joe Molloy and ex-Offaly All Ireland champion Daithi Regan to look ahead to Sunday's hurling decider.

With Limerick looking to bridge an All Ireland gap dating back to 1973 against the reigning champions, Moran broke down exactly what his county has to do to upset Galway.

"It's like two heavyweights. There's the the defending champion and Limerick are the challenger," said Moran.

"I think if Limerick are to win - and someone made a very good point - we will need to have 10 guys that have eight out 10s or more.

"And of the other five, they'll need to have seven out of 10s. In order for us to beat Galway, I think we need to be six or seven points better than them on the day to win by a point or two.

"So everything needs to go our way. We need to try and negate the obvious strengths that Galway have - and Galway have many - but performance wise, if you're in the Limerick set-up and I was there in 2007, the one word of advice that I would have is go and control the controlables, make sure your touch is good early doors, get on the ball early, get into the game. Try and win your battles. And there's a lot of big match-ups and battles there and I think we need to win at least eight or nine of those battles and hope that we have two or three marquee performances because every All Ireland in history, it's been ultimately dictated by the two or three guys that step up to the plate with big, big performances."
