"I'm ready to take care of business" - Jason Quigley is hoping to step up a level in the pro ranks

Donegal's Jason Quigley fights James de la Rosa on Saturday night in what will be the biggest test of the 24-year-old's career.

Quigley turned professional in 2014, after winning silver at the World Amateur Championships in Kazakhstan, the previous October. His ten fights in the paid ranks have all been wins, with nine of those victories coming inside the distance.

Saturday's fight will be Quigley's third in Las Vegas, but it will be by far his most high-profile. The Ballybofey native is fighting on the under card of the Canelo Alvarez-Amir Khan fight in the new T-Mobile Arena.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the fight on Thursday evening, the Donegal star spoke about the path he has taken as a professional by basing himself in America. He has yet to fight in Ireland since 2013.

"This is why I left Ireland, to pursue my dream and to become a World champion. James de la Rosa is the first obstacle on my path to getting there. Come Saturday night, I'm ready to take care of business."

Despite only fighting ten times, it is encouraging to hear Quigley speak so openly about becoming a World Champion. He seems to have found a fresh focus and a new intensity that will take him into the next level of fighters and hopefully fight for some gold sooner rather than later.
