With the additions of Sean Maguire and Kevin O'Connor from Cork City, Preston North End's Irish contingent only continues to grow.
Already at the club were Daryl Horgan and Andy Boyle who had also arrived from the League of Ireland last winter, while Alan Browne, Greg Cunningham and Eoin Doyle make up the rest of the Irish crop at the club.
However, while most of those players grew in prominence during Simon Grayson's time in charge, Alex Neil is now manager at the club.
Last month, he spoke to Off The Ball about the players he is inheriting and only time will tell whether the Irish players at Preston all remain foremost in his thoughts.
Former Ireland midfielder Keith Andrews is confident that the Irish contingent will retain prominence and he is especially confident in regards to Maguire, who has been prolific for Cork City.
"I personally think he'll take the division by storm," said Keith in our Championship season preview.
"I saw him live a couple of weeks ago, second last game I think it was against Bray and he was on a different level. You're in that zone where you're playing with such confidence and freedom that it didn't matter who he was playing against.
"If he gets the opportunity while he's in this type of form, I think he'll fly. I think he'll seamlessly slot into the Ireland squad in September. So I wouldn't be too worried about Alex Neil.
"I've met him a couple of times and he seems like a very decent fella and he hasn't got the budget to be able to just rip up that squad. He's going to have to work with the vast majority of what he's inherited."
