Does Keith Wood believe Connacht can go all the way in the Pro 12?

Keith Wood thinks Connacht should not lose their sense of exuberance as the Guinness Pro 12 reaches its latter stages.

The province lead the table outright after defeating Leinster at home last week and as crucial games arrive on the horizon, there may be a temptation to tighten up and grind out wins.

But ex-Ireland captain Keith, who was on Off The Ball tonight alongside The Irish Times' Gerry Thornley, believes they should maintain the qualities that have put them in a great position.

"I think once you're at this point of a season, if you're not thinking about going for the whole extent of it, they're in the position to do really, really well. They have a tough run-in definitely. The injuries make it really, really tough but they showed last week when things weren't happening exactly right for them, they're able to still play, able to defend and they're able to get a win against one of the more fancied teams in the competition," said Keith.

"So I don't think they need to shrink away from being a little bit vulnerable, hoping that you can go and get a win and win the league outright. They have to go for that. They're in a position to do so and I think they're in a position where they'll be fine for next year anyway. I think they have to go for everything. They've shown a level of exuberance and ambition for the whole season. I don't think now that they get close to the line that they need to tighten up."

Keith and Gerry also made their predictions for the derby between Leinster and Munster at the Aviva Stadium this weekend.
