Paddy Mulligan: "Pochettino was an absolute disgrace" in the way that he set his team up

Not only did Tottenham blow their admittedly faint Premier League title chance by drawing with Chelsea after holding a two-goal lead.

But after losing 2-1 at home to Southampton on Sunday, they could finish below North London rivals Arsenal in the table if they lose their final league game and the Gunners beat already-relegated Aston Villa in theirs.

Why have Spurs faltered in these final games of the season?

Ex-Ireland, Chelsea and West Brom full-back Paddy Mulligan believes there should be some scrutiny on manager Mauricio Pochettino's tactics, particularly when the full-backs are nullified.

"Certainly, the game against West Brom, they'd no idea and against Chelsea, they totally imploded last Monday night. As a matter-of-fact, Pochettino was an absolute disgrace in the way that he set his team up and the way that they carried on, on the pitch," he said on this week's Rewind podcast.

"What happened was, the previous Monday they couldn't cope with West Brom. They couldn't cope with the fact that all of a sudden, they were asked to do something that they hadn't been asked to do all season and that was that the two full-backs, Walker and Rose, couldn't get forward because Sessegnon and McClean did the defensive job well."

Paddy also talked about Robbie Keane's return to action and what that means for Ireland with Euro 2016 closing in.
