Pat Nevin wants immediate five game bans for footballers feigning injury

Pat Nevin wants to see players feigning injury to get immediate five-game bans as punishment.

The ex-Chelsea and Everton winger reacted to  told Off The Ball that it is one thing that really gets on his nerves.

"I get really fed up with one thing. You know the diving, the throwing themselves about when you know someone's not been hit? More specifically when someone pretends to be smashed in the face, rolls around and then you show the slow-motion afterwards and they weren't touched. I would ban them for five games immediately. The reason for that is you're getting at the culture of the game," he said.

Meanwhile, Pat feels Leicester City's fixtures look very kind as they get within four wins of a remarkable title triumph.

"If you look what's ahead, three of the next five games are at home. They're going to love that. They'll have everyone behind them and their next game away is at Sunderland who aren't doing brilliantly just now. Sunderland are in the absolutely awful position of having to go and attack Leicester at home because they need three points, so that plays perfectly into the way Leicester want to play just now," said Pat.

He also talked Manchester United v Everton as well as his memories of the legendary Bobby Charlton who was honoured before the game by having an Old Trafford stand named after him.

Pat also gave his take on the aforementioned doping scandal which has seen football included in the narrative, saying one would have to be "willfully naive" to think the sport is immune from the potential for doping.

He also spoke about the real story of an indie song called 'Pat Nevin's Eyes' that was written about him.
