The Australian A League has emerged as a potential destination for Ireland record goalscorer Robbie Keane.
The striker, who retired from international duty after Euro 2016 with a final appearance against Oman in September, announced his decision to leave Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy after five years as their 2016 season came to an end.
Tallaght native Keane has been linked with a move to League of Ireland - namely Shamrock Rovers who are based at Tallaght Stadium - to finish his career but Brisbane Roar in Australia have revealed an interest in the 36-year-old.
Their managing director Mark Kingsman told The Age newspaper that they will make an attempt to approach Keane about a potential move.
"When you've got somebody of Robbie Keane's calibre and pedigree, I'm sure every A-League club would be interested. We haven't made an approach yet," he said.
Kingsman added: "We will make the call."
Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, who has also now left LA Galaxy, is also being linked with interest from Australian clubs.
Keane's former Ireland team-mate Damien Duff spent a season at Melbourne City in 2014-15, while ex-Boys in Green forward Andy Keogh has been at Perth Glory since January.
Ex-Cork City and Sunderland striker Roy O'Donovan is the other Irish player on the list of overseas players in the A League, having been at Central Coast Mariners since 2015.
