Anyone who watched the Milan derby last night would have noticed that AC Milan's Mario Balotelli looked up for it and in potentially decent form.
The surprise is obvious given his recent career trajectory for Liverpool and Italy and tonight on Off The Ball, our European football reviewe Ben Lyttleton gave his take on the striker among other subjects from the continent.
"Balotelli was excellent, He really dominated, he looked up for it - as he should be given that it's his debut and against Inter one of his former sides where he was getting booed by half the stadium as well - he took on the defenders, he looked engaged and interested which is more than he did for much of his time at Liverpool, had a free-kick that was well saved by Handanovic, hit the post, went on a jinking run. But it was encouraging really for Milan even though they ended up losing the game," he said, although he adds that the nature of Milan's reinforcements leaves questions about where Balotelli fits in positionally.
