Atletico have one major problem to fix

Chelsea scored with practically the last kick of the game - deep into injury time - to win 2-1 away to Atletico Madrid last night hours after the Spanish side signed Diego Costa despite the Premier League champion's efforts to keep him in London.

Graham Hunter joined Off The Ball tonight to discuss the match - he highlighted the fact that Atletico players and manager Diego Simeone were quick to put their hands up and say that they were ultimately outclassed by Chelsea.

"They knew because it's so rare," he reflected, adding that it is unusual to see the team being outworked in the final stages like they were last night.

He believes that the ageing of Gabi in their midfield has created serious problems for Simeone who is struggling to replace him to or change his gameplan to allow for time catching up with the 34-year-old.

Talks also turned to the influence of Cesc Fabregas on the game and his standing in Spanish football.

Hunter believes that he is, "One of the great underrated footballers of the modern game," and that while his always somewhat limited pace diminishes, he would not rule out the possibility of him making his way back into the Spanish international setup.
