Tottenham lost on the opening day to Manchester United before a surprise home defeat to Newcastle in the middle of December. Since that loss they have one ten points from a possible 12.
Seven-time league winner Phil Thompson spoke to Oisin Langan on Newstalk Breakfast this morning about their potential title aspirations. "Spurs, I think look the real deal".
"They are good defensively. They are good in midfield and are creative. They got a goalscorer in midfield in Dele Alli. (Harry) Kane looks fantastic. They are a real threat".
The White Hart Lane side last won the title in 1961. Their fourth place finishes in 2010 and 2012 are their best in the Premier League era.
