Can we expect many Irish players to move clubs today?

As the transfer window has entered its final day, clubs throughout England and Scotland are on the lookout for last minute buys and many Irish players may be on the move today.

The most high profile may involve Irish international Jonathan Walters. The Stoke striker is wanted by Norwich and reports last night suggested that the 31 year year old had handed in a transfer request at the Britannia Stadium. If Walters moves to Carrow Road, he will be the second Irish international to do so this summer following Robbie Brady to Norfolk.

Cardiff City's Eoin Doyle may be on the verge of making his second deadline day move in a row. The former Sligo Rovers and Chesterfield striker joined the Championship side in January scoring five goals so far for Russell Slade's side. Doyle may be on the move to Championship newcomers Preston who have only scored twice in their opening five league games of the season.

After losing Chris Forrester to Peterborough at the weekend, St Patrick's Athletic may be on the verge of losing another star to England. Numerous Irish newspapers reported last night that Sean Hoare is of interest to many clubs in the Football League, with League 2 side Portsmouth looking like favourites to sign the Dubliner.
