Chris Coleman hits out at Wenger over Ramsey injury claim

Wales manager Chris Coleman has reacted furiously to Arsene Wenger's suggestion that he was at fault for Aaron Ramsey's hamstring injury.

The midfielder pulled up during his club's Champions League win over Bayern Munich two weeks ago and Wenger said afterwards that Ramsey should not have played in Wales' final Euro 2016 qualifier against Andorra.

But Coleman has described that comment as a "cheap shot" and has told Wenger to review his own decisions before blaming others.

"We sent Aaron back fit. Two games down the line, he's blaming us for fatigue. He could have done something about Aaron playing both 90 minutes for Wales by calling me up beforehand. My phone's on. Nothing! And then afterwards to make that comment, that's not right. He never dealt with it," said Coleman, who has led Wales to their first major tournament since 1958.

Ramsey remains sidelined along with the likes of Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlaide Chamberlain and Hector Bellerin for tonight's Champions League clash with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

Chelsea are also in action tonight as they play host to Dynamo Kiev at Stamford Bridge.

Branislav Ivanovic could return to the Blues defence, but keeper Thibault Courtois remains an absentee.
