Connacht up to sixth after Pro12 win against Dragons

Connacht are up to sixth in the Guinness Pro12 table.

Pat Lam's side ran in three tries, including one on his first start from Eoghan Masterson, in a 30-25 win away to Newport-Gwent Dragons.

Newport opened the scoring with a penalty from Tom Prydie, but Connacht's Craig Ronaldson scored the first try of the game - with a conversion from Jack Carty.

It was Dragons 11, Connacht 17 at half-time, with a pair of penalties in the early stages of the second half extending the visiting team's lead to 23.

A Jack Dixon a try - Tom Prydie converting - narrowed the gap between the two teams to five points. Despite late game tries from the two teams, that gap remained when the final whistle blew.

Connacht are now in sixth place, behind Ospreys. It's Ulster, Munster and Leinster in 2nd, 3rd and 4th spots, while four points separates Ulster from leaders Glasgow Warriors.
