Dampened Arsenal confidence was obvious according to Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger says it was clear Arsenal's confidence was not at its maximum as they earned a relatively comfortable win at Bournemouth.

Two early goals from Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain provided a platform for the 2-0 win with Arsenal able to sit back from then on.

After a run of four Premier League games without a win, Wenger says it was one of those days where the result was of far more significance than the fluency of the performance.

"We had not won for a while so you could see that our worry was to keep the result and that the confidence was not completely at its maximum. But sometimes you have to scrap through games like that and get the three points," he said.

Meanwhile, his opposite number Eddie Howe told Sky Sports News that a slow start cost them dearly.

"Early in the game we found it difficult to get pressure on the ball and to really influence their possession," he admitted, "and ultimately on the back of that possession they scored two goals."
