Conor McGregor hoisted both the lightweight title and featherweight title (actually the welterweight strap) over his head on November 12th and celebrated making UFC history.
By becoming the first fighter in the company's history to hold titles in two different weight divisions at the same time, he attracted twice the number of rivals.
One of those looking to take his newly claimed 155lbs strap from his is Russian fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov, who called McGregor out after his bout on the undercard of UFC 205 before the Irishman had even won the belt.
The debate over his next opponent appears to be protracted even longer, with interim 145lbs champions Jose Aldo still waiting for his chance to reclaim the featherweight belt. John Kavanagh, speaking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour after the fight, said his own preference would be to fight Nate Diaz at lightweight for the title.
However, with McGregor - now an expectant father - seeking to hold talks with the new UFC owners, it is unclear when he will return to the Octagon.
Nurmagomedov appears to be one of the chief opponents for McGregor and displayed his credentials with a resounding victory over Michael Johnson at Madison Square Garden.
Labelling him a "chicken" after the fight, many feel that this is the fight we are most likely to see next.
Future UFC Hall of Famer Dan Henderson spoke to the The Adam Carolla Show on Friday night and was asked who he thinks would come out on top in a fight between the two.
"I think that kid that fought last weekend, I have trouble with his name, Magomedov, the Russian kid, that's at 155 - I think he would definitely give Conor a huge problem," he said.
"I think he definitely would take him down and beat the piss out of him."
Asked what he thought of McGregor's antics outside the Octagon and during press conferences (which in the run up to UFC 205 saw him threaten to throw a chair at Eddie Alvarez) he said: "I don't dislike him. I think it took me a while to kinda get onboard with him, just to see a little bit more well-roundedness.
"He's always shown that he's got good hands, good kicks, but to see him against a couple different wrestlers that had good hands, it took me awhile to get onboard with him. I think Eddie just did not fight a smart fight whatsoever. He didn't use his wrestling whatsoever."
