Dana White says Georges St-Pierre/Anderson Silva fight "definitely will not happen"

Dana White insists that MMA legends Georges St-Pierre and Anderson Silva will not face off at UFC 206 in Toronto.

Rumours had circulated of St Pierre's imminent return to the Octagon could be as soon as December and could take place in his home nation of Canada.

The card, which takes place at the Air Canada Centre, will also feature Daniel Cormier's defence of the light-heavyweight title against Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson.

Speaking to BT Sport, White left no doubt that St-Pierre would not feature at UFC 206 and that he may not even return to the sport.

"It's not true, it's so not true," he said. "And I know everyone keeps talking about... GSP isn't even close. I'm telling you again, I don't think GSP wants to fight. I keep saying this, you guys know fighters as much as I know fighters. Do you think GSP wants to fight.

"GSP wasn't crazy about fighting when he was fighting! Now three years later he's dying to fight? He's not, I don't think he is. That fight is definitely not going to happen. I don't think that GSP ever returns.

"In some cases that's not a bad thing. The guy retired, he went out on top. He's looked at as one of the greatest to ever do it. I think he lost that fire a long time ago for some reason. He's got his own personal reasons.

"He likes to keep his name out there like he might be coming back and everybody anticipating his return. At the end of the day I don't think he wants it."

White then went on to discuss what was next for Bisping after his successful title defence. Chris Weidman faces Yoel Romero at UFC 205 this November in New York City, while Luke Rockhold fights for the first time since losing his title when he faces Jacare Souza.

White said the way the fights have turned out, there will be a "tournament" type system to see who gets another shot at the title.

"The way that this is laid out i actually perfect. Bisping just defends his title and the grudge match that he wanted and Henderson wanted for Henderson's retirement fight... Now the next couple of fights are almost like a tournament in that division.

"Bisping will have already been rested and relaxing when these fights happen and then we can figure out who's next for Bisping after these things play out."
