Former Kerry captain Declan O'Sullivan confirmed that he has been forced to retire from competitive football with Dromid Pearses and South Kerry.
After a career that has been blighted by injuries, the 31-year-old was forced to retire from the Kingdom panel after last year's All-Ireland success and had hoped to continue playing at club level for another few years but he suffered another knee injury while helping South Kerry to beat Legion in their county final replay - ending his career with a fifth county title.
After my op this morning sadly my football journey is over. Thank you @dromidgaa @SouthKerryBoard & @Kerry_Official it's been an honour.
