Dundalk and Cork City kept apart in the FAI Cup semi finals

The draw for the FAI Cup semi-finals has taken place this morning in Dublin with five teams remaining in the competition.

League leaders and reigning champions Dundalk have been kept apart from second placed Cork City as the possibility of a cup final between the leagues top two remains on track.

After their draw on Friday night in The Brandywell, Derry City travel south tonight to face Cork in the quarter final replay. A trip to Bray Wanderers awaits for the winners.

Dundalk have earned a home draw after their 4-0 win over Sligo Rovers on Friday night. They face Longford Town in the semi final in Oriel Park. Dundalk manager Stephen Kenny won two Cup titles with Longford Town in 2003 and 2004.

Of the five teams remaining in the draw, Derry were the last side to win the FAI Cup. doing so in 2012 against St Patrick's Athletic.

Both semi finals will take place in Sunday, October 4th.
