Dundalk have been beaten 2-1 by BATE Borisov in the first-leg of their second round Champions League qualifier.
Stephen Kenny's side had a disappointing start after they conceded in the 11th minute of tonight's game in Belarus when midfielder Aleksandr Karnitskiy scored with a powerful shot from the edge of the area.
But Dundalk got themselves back into it when Dave McMillan deservedly brought the League of Ireland champions level in the 33rd minute with a vital away goal.
But the visitors conceded again after an unfortunate deflected strike by Evgeniy Yablonski beat goalkeeper Gary Rogers.
With an away goal to take back to the home leg, Dundalk will hold out hope of qualification to the next round of qualifiers.
Great performance from the team but players frustrated with final result. All to play for next week.
