Technology in sport in is a growing phenomenon.
Not only has the development of sport science boosted performance around the globe, it's turned into an area in which companies can create new revenue streams.
The good folks at CNET brought us football jerseys of the future and they haven't stopped there. Thanks to the arrival of the Rugby World Cup, English bookmakers Bwin have thought up some novel ideas on how to make the most of wearable sports technology.
Some of the examples include LED lights in jerseys to offer more than one sponsor the chance to be on the front of jerseys, a cyborg-esque contact lens which would help place kickers judge the the distance and accuracy of their kick and a GPS tracker placed inside the ball to make decisions more accurate.
