Footballing phenom Freddy Adu has returned to the United States to try and resurrect his career by joining NASL side Tampa Bay Rowdies.
The 26 year old made his professional debut aged only 14 in 2004 for MLS side DC United. Adu was seen as a potential global star and made his debut for the American national team aged 16.
After a disappointing spell in Portugal with Benfica, Adu has a nomadic career with spells all over Europe including in France, Greece, Turkey, Serbia and most recently in Finland.
Adu rejoins manager Thomas Rongen who coached the striker in American underage teams. The Ghanaian born star last played for the US national team four years ago.
Will the once nicknamed "New Pele" finally settle and re-emerge in the American national team?
