'For me, that's hedging your bets' - Brian O'Driscoll on Grealish situation

How prevalent is the sledging or verbal abuse in rugby, and who are the most common offenders.

Brian O'Driscoll had an answer for both questions on Off The Ball tonight, in the text slot.

"The Aussies are always the worst [sledgers] but you don't hear too much of it," he said, before reminiscing about Ronan O'Gara.

"ROG was one of the worst sledgers without a shadow of a doubt. I remember one time, James Hook on the Lions tour got called in and he was really worried about rooming with ROG. He was like 'I don't think he even likes me. He told me I was f***** s*** when we played against them in the Welsh game'. But ROG doesn't remember what he says. He kind of blacks out. He went 'I don't know why [Hook's] got an issue with me.'"

He also added that Jonathan Sexton's roar at O'Gara in '09 may well have been built up from a couple of previous run-ins between the pair.

Brian had also been vocal about the Jack Grealish saga on Twitter a couple of weeks ago.

Tonight, he touched on it again, saying: "I understand that the guy is born in Birmingham and has played for Ireland underage. But when someone comes and says 'we want you to play for us' and you've played played previously and you'd turned them down for me, that's hedging your bets. And now with Hodgson coming out and saying 'we're interested', maybe I'll stand corrected in a couple of months time but now that the English have come along, I just fancy that he's going to pick them."

He also added that there is no point in waiting and that "pride in the jersey" is paramount.

Meanwhile, he also picked out Manu Tuilagi as the best 13 in the world when fit and a massive loss for England at this summer's World Cup, which he will miss.
