From All-Ireland champ to rugby international and so much more, Lindsay Peat on her remarkable sporting career

Is there a more multi-talented sportsperson than Lindsay Peat around in Ireland?

The answer is a no based on what she has achieved in her sporting career. The 35-year-old has played underage soccer for Ireland, senior basketball for this country's national team, won an All-Ireland with the Dublin footballers and then last weekend she played for the Irish national rugby team against England.

"Sport is just what I do and what I love," she told Off The Ball.

"[The four sports] shouldn't really transfer but at the same time, they're an attacking game. You're trying to outwit your opponent as a team and though the skill-set might be a little different, you're trying to just score than the other team."

Taking rugby for example, she told Ger that the hand-eye coordination and tactics have been a help, while her soccer development came through school before progressing up the ranks and also playing basketball from her teens onwards.

And she won an All-Ireland with the Dubs in 2010, before taking her first big steps into rugby, starting with sevens and then progressing to the full fifteens game at international level where she is currently a blinside flanker.
