On June 16 2011, bullets struck Jorge Claros in the head and neck.

15 days later the footballer was back on the pitch and three years later, playing for Honduras at the World Cup finals.

To tell us about the shooting incident itself and the period between his hospitalization and the World Cup, we spoke to football writer Nick Ames who had the lowdown on the intriguing tale of a player who would go on to play for Hibernian under former Bohemians manager Pat Fenlon.
