"Everyone is disappointed" - Andy McEntee annoyed with Cork draw despite comeback

Meath came back from nine points down to share a piece of the spoils with Cork on Sunday afternoon. Although it was a great comeback, the Leinster side could and probably should have gone on to win the game.

McEntee spoke after the game to LMFM as he expressed his thoughts.

"We would have settled for the point when we were nine points down," he said. "But when you get back to a point with 12 minutes to go, a gale force wind behind you and all the momentum with you, we proceeded to blow the game. And we did blow it. Cork were dead and buried. They couldn't win a kick out."

He went on to say that, "everyone is disappointed. There are no excuses for that. Everything was done prior to the game and we just didn't perform well enough."

Asked about his side's chances of promotion the Meath boss said, "It’s not a cliche, let us switch our attention to Fermanagh. I’m still struggling to get my head around this game and I am utterly disappointed we didn't get more out of it."

The game finished Cork 0-18 Meath 1-15.

Meath sit third in division two on five points while Cork occupy fifth spot on four points.
