GALLERY: Cavan and Mayo move forward in Ulster and Connacht Championships

Cavan produced the result of the day as they put in an excellent performance to see off Armagh in the Ulster SFC quarter-final.

Goals from Dara McVeety and Martin Reilly proved instrumental as the Breffni men saw off a despondent Armagh side 2-16 to 0-14.

In Connacht, Mayo had little trouble dispatching London in their SFC preliminary round, winning out on a scoreline of 2-16 to 0-09 in Ruislip.

Cillian O'Connor was black carded early in the game but that had little effect on Mayo's scoring prowess, with Conor Loftus and Jason Dohery raising the green flag in the first half.

Elsewhere, Clare booked passage through to the Munster SFC semi-final, beating Limerick 0-16 to 0-13 at the Gaelic Grounds this afternoon.

The division three champions have now not lost to Limerick in their last three meetings.

Tipperary also secured their Munster semi-final berth with a comfortable 1-15 to 1-07 victory over Waterford.
