You can't put a price on potential, but that hasn't stopped clubs around Europe from slapping some huge asking prices on their young stars in a bid to fend off interest or cash in on a player who might not turn out to be as good as they thought.
One of this summer's most high profile transfers did in fact feature a young talent in the form of Raheem Sterling, and when it comes to players who are under 21-years-old, his £49 million move from Liverpool puts him top of the list of the top 10 most expensive young stars in Europe.

Finally, rumoured Liverpool target Mateo Kovacic rounds out the list, whose rather spectacular goal against Lazio last season is worth a watch.
