Pat Nevin does not believe that Christian Benteke truly fits into the new philosophy Jurgen Klopp is instilling at Liverpool.
The centre-forward started on the bench against Manchester City on Saturday with the more fleet-footed Roberto Firmino leading the line.
Pat was on Off The Ball tonight and the subject of Benteke's adaptability came up, with the former Chelsea and Everton midfielder doubtful of the Belgian's suitability.
"I still don't think he does [fit]. From the moment Klopp walked in the door, I just think his style is not the club's style. He does like big centre-forwards but there's a slight difference between Benteke and some of the other top centre-forwards he's had. The technique is much, much better from a few others that he's had in the past. He will use him and get the best out of him in some situations but I look at that bench and I see Sturridge and I see Benteke. I'm absolutely convinced, I know who he wants on that pitch. He wants Sturridge on that pitch, it's not Benteke he wants on the pitch."
Pat also spoke about the reason why he believes the Premier League is so tight and surprise-filled this season, and spoke of Jamie Vardy's development.
