Drugs Allegations

The Sunday Times and German broadcaster ARD/WDR gained access to a database of 12,000 blood-test results from 5,000 international athletes.

The data, which was kept at the International Association of Athletics Federations' (IAAF) Monaco headquarters, was reportedly released by a whistle-blower.

It reveals that as many as 55 gold medals have been awarded to athletes with suspicious results.

We had Paul Kimmage on The Sunday Paper review and this is what he had to say about it:

GAA

Dublin and Kerry both advanced to the Semi Final of the All Ireland Senior Football Championship after comprehensive wins over Fermanagh and Kildare respectively.

Dublin beat Fermanagh 2-23 to 2-15, with fortunate goals putting a gloss on the scoreline for Pete McGrath's men.

Kerry had it even easier as they hammered Kildare winning 7-16 to 0-10 advancing them to the Semi with 27 points to spare over the Lillies.

Soccer

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger finally had reason to celebrate against Jose Mourinho's Chelsea, having failed to win in any of his previous 13 attempts against the Portuguese.

His side beat League champions Chelsea at Wembley to win the Community Shield for a second season in a row thanks to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who scored the winner with a powerful drive into the top corner with his weaker left foot.
