"I've Done Well To Get The Move"

The Dubliner joined Derek Ryan on 98FM's Now That's What I Call Sport this week.

Burke made his Republic Of Ireland debut against France last month, scoring on his first home game against the USA days later.

"Its a brilliant move for myself", said Burke.

"I'm delighted to get the deal done as well and now I'm looking forward to get my head down for pre-season and working hard and trying to move forward and progress".

Burke has had previous stints in the English game, playing for Aston Villa and Notts County, a period which ended disappointingly for the Dubliner. It was then he made the move to Shamrock Rovers.

"It was a difficult time for me at Notts County and things weren't really going my way at the time so I had to decide what I had to do for my career and that decision was to return to Dublin.

"Having everyone around me was a good factor, which helped me get to where I am today".

Burke has been at Rovers since 2017, and admitted he is sad to be leaving the club.

"Its obviously a sad moment that this chapter is coming to an end at Shamrock Rovers and its been brilliant for me and I've enjoyed my time here.

"Being in Dublin has been brilliant for me as being around everything and everyone which is good for my personal life".

"Going back to England now, I feel like I'm more mature and probably better suited for it now after being at home and playing in the League of Ireland.

"Si go back to England with confidence, knowing what to expect that will guide me in the right direction".
