"I was feeling guilty that I had survived" - Former Dublin hurler speaks about starting Cycle for Life initiative

Former Dublin minor hurler Cormac Ryan has seen more of life than most 22-year-olds. At 18, after going through a battery of tests to find the cause of his dizzy and breathless spells, he eventually was told that he had a serious heart condition. His heart had been stopping for up to five seconds at a time, and that it was pure chance that he was still alive,.

Ryan appeared on Off the Ball to discuss how this news had impacted him, and spoke candidly about dealing with a feeling of guilt at surviving when others had not been so lucky, as well as how giving up the sport he loved changed

That all lead to him starting the Cycle for Life initiative with other friends and GAA players, which involves fundraising for charities, bringing awareness both to cardiac and mental health causes.
