Kilkenny 0-21

Galway 1-14

Kilkenny managed to get their second win of the Allianz League campaign after withstanding a late Galway comeback in Nowlan Park.

TJ Reid led the reigning All-Ireland champions charge, scoring 14 of his sides total, 10 of which came prior to the break.

In truth Kilkenny controlled the game from the get-go, opening up an early lead as Reid punished Galway's indiscipline with the Cats ahead by eight at the interval.

The second half continued in much the same vein as the first, with Reid and Co. keeping the scoreboard ticking over.

Eventually, Galway found some scoring from and reduced the lead to six with Joe Canning becoming more prominent, while an unlikely comeback looked possible when Paul Hoban netted for a three pointer.

The Tribesman got to within a whisker of clawing back the deficit, with points from Padraig Breheny, Davy Glennon and Canning making it a one point game, but that would be as good as it would get for the Westerners.

Kilkenny put the foot down again in the final 10 minutes to open an unassailable lead of four points by the time the final whistle blew.

Tipperary 1-17

Waterford 1-18

Waterford sneaked to victory against Tipperary in Semple Stadium, with Austin Gleeson striking late to maintain their 100% record in this years league campaign.

In a cracking game of hurling, the lead switched hands multiple times in the latter stages of the game after Tipp held a four point lead at half-time.

The Deise spent the majority of the second half cutting the the lead, and finally hit the front when Tom Devine raised the green flag with 11 minutes to go.

The drama wasn't finsihed then, as with two minutes left on the clock, John McGrath netted for Tipp's goal, giving them a one point lead, before Patrick Curran nailed a free to level the game deep into injury time.

A pulsating finish came to its climax as Gleeson pointed deep into injury time to snatch victory for Waterford.
