Former Ireland stalwart Kevin Kilbane does not think Roy Keane's comments about Everton and releasing Irish players for international duty will have major ramifications for the squad.
Nor does he believe that the spotlight on the ex-Man United captain has any effect on the players, although he did quip "in many ways Roy is bigger than One Direction" based on a comment made by Keane himself.
Speaking to Off The Ball, Kilbane was discussing the fallout from incidents and comments involving Keane during this international window.
"The message I've got from a lot of the players involved, Roy has been great and been wonderful to work with and been great on the training ground," said Kilbane.
He also feels frustration at fielding constant questions about Jack Grealish's future may have led to Keane to make a blunt comment about the U21 star's father.
Kilbane also admitted that he was not hugely impressed by Scotland's performance in their 1 - 0 win over the Boys in Green at Celtic Park on Friday night, and also felt that Ireland midfielder Jeff Hendrick may have struggled with the occasion due to lack of experience.
